On 8-11 August 2016, Thailand participated in the 28th Annual Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas, Texas. Pol. Lt. Gen. Tamasak Wicharaya, Assistant Commissioner General, Royal Thai Police, led the delegation comprising officials from the Royal Thai Police, the Department of Special Investigation, and civil society representatives, to share Thailand’s experiences in addressing crimes against children and child exploitation with over 4,000 participants from all over the world. The Thai delegation was also joined by their counterparts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok.
The Conference is hosted annually by the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and the Dallas Police Department. It provides training for government officials and civil society representatives working in the fields of law enforcement, child protection services, children’s advocacy, therapy, and medicine. It is also the premier conference of its kind providing practical and interactive instruction to those fighting crimes against children and helping children heal.
