The State Department\u2019s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report 2016, released on 30 June 2016 (09.00 hrs. local time) has upgraded Thailand to Tier 2 Watch List.<\/span><\/p>\n Thailand appreciates that the Report recognizes the Government\u2019s genuine political will and the progress made in tackling this highly dynamic and complex issue of trafficking in persons. The Report is also reflective of the partnership between Thailand and the United States, of which cooperation on various areas including victim protection and law enforcement has translated into tangible outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n While noting the ranking improvement this year, Thailand will by no means be complacent. We remain focused and committed to tackling human trafficking in all forms, while seeking to further strengthen cooperation with all concerned stakeholders, both domestically and internationally, as we realize that only through partnership, this challenge of transnational nature could be effectively and sustainably overcome.<\/span><\/p>\n ***********************<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
