Chatu Mongol Sonakul.<\/p>\n<p>The visit of the ILO&#8217;s Director-General took place a few months after the Royal Thai Government, Workers and Employers organizations signed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/asia\/media-centre\/news\/WCMS_684786\/lang--en\/index.htm\" target=\"\">Thailand&#8217;s first Decent Work Country Programme\u00a0<\/a>during the celebration of ILO&#8217;s 100 anniversary in April 2019.<\/p>\n<p>During his stay in Thailand, Mr Ryder also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/global\/about-the-ilo\/how-the-ilo-works\/ilo-director-general\/statements-and-speeches\/WCMS_713726\/lang--en\/index.htm\" target=\"\">addressed Education International\u2019s 8th World Congress\u00a0<\/a>and visited Samut Sakhon Port-in-Port-Out inspection centre, where the ILO has been supporting the Royal Thai Government, as well as Employers and Workers efforts to improve working conditions in the seafood processing industry. It has a unique tripartite structure that involves workers, employers and governments equally in its governance and decision-making.
