At the TIPNET Conference, Justice Minister Tawee Sodsong underscored the 5P policy as a framework for integrating efforts among agencies and partners to promote the exchange of information and effectively prevent and combat trafficking in persons.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On 18 January 2024, Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, the Minister of Justice, presided over the Conference on Cooperation in Exchanging Information and Sharing Experience in Combating Human Trafficking (TIPNET), organized by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) in Chiang Mai province. The Conference was attended by over 100 participants, including officials from the Royal Thai Police (RTP), Ministry of Social Development and Human Society (MSDHS), Ministry of Labour (MOL), Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Ministry of Interior (MOI), representatives from international organizations, diplomatic corps, and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n

Minister Tawee opened the Conference by reiterating that \u201cHuman trafficking crime is the second highest source of income for criminals after illegal drug trade. He emphasized the need to prevent and combat human trafficking, stating, \u201cEvery human being has value. Any crime against human being is the worst form of crime.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He also added that the necessity for the 5P (Policy, Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, and Partnership<\/strong>) policy as a guideline for operation has been discussed since his tenure <\/span>as<\/span> the Director General of DSI. Therefore, this momentous Conference is a concrete example of \u201cpartnership\u201d that brings all the partners together. He underscored the importance of sincerity and seriousness of the collective efforts to combat human trafficking, emphasizing collaboration and partnership, as no single nation can solve this probl<\/span>em alone.<\/span><\/p>\n
