On June 16, 2022, the Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong joined the statement at the release of the new International Labour Organization (ILO) report titled “Transforming Principles into the Way: The Future of the Good Labour Practices Program in the Thai Seafood Industry.” The report was prepared by the Ship to Shore Rights Project in the southwest region, supported by the European Union. The Head of the European Union Delegation to Thailand, Mr. Giuseppe Busini, Deputy Director of the International Labour Office for the Asia and Pacific Region, Ms. Panadda Boonphala, Advisor to the Thai Tuna Industry Association, Mr. Atthaphan Masrangsan, and Deputy Secretary-General for Academic Affairs, the State Enterprises Workers’ Relations Confederation (SERC), attended the speech at Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok.


         Mr. Boonchob said that “the Ministry of Labour is proud to continue supporting the Thai business sector to improve labour standards, especially in the important seafood processing sector. The Ministry of Labour intends to work with the International Labour Organization and other partners to strengthen and trust the Good Labour Practices Program in the Thai seafood industry, which can be extended for the benefit of other business sectors.”
