NNT on 27 January 2015, BANGKOK — The Minister of Social Development and Human Security has reported the beggars arrangement program's first day findings, referring to the practice under the 3P principles to ensure success.

The beggars arrangement operation yesterday had a total of 107 persons entering into the program, 32 from Bangkok and 75 from other provinces, according to the Minister of Social Development and Human Security Pol.Gen. Adul Sangsingkeo. Yesterday marks the first day of the re-arrangement program.

Enlisted beggars, both Thai nationals and foreigners, will be kept in check from falling victim human trafficking. Victims will be forwarded to the Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTD). The division will provide protection to the victims and introduce the cases to the legal system.

Illegal foreign beggars will be redirected to the Immigration Police for deportation, while Thai beggars will be consulted and relocated to the ministry’s foster homes, or to hospitals for beggars suffering from physical or mental illness.

This program will be implemented under the 3 flagship principles, also known as 3P, which are prosecution, protection, and prevention. This national beggars arrangement program will yield an effective and concrete outcome, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security has stressed.
