The Thai Government has prioritized raising standards of human trafficking prevention and protection of Thai and foreign workers, with MOL as one of the main agencies in the efforts. Therefore, MOL has established the policy “MOL Transforming the Thai Labor Market” determining to accelerate the solutions for migrant worker issues and prevent human trafficking with an aim for Thailand to be upgraded to Tier 1.

Under this policy, labor agencies across the country have used the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for labor trafficking and forced labor and the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) as a guideline for their operations, which requires the efficacy enhancement for labor inspectors and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs). On this note, PS Boonchop said that MOL is ready to join forces with MDTs and all related agencies to enhance the efforts against forced labor and human trafficking in Thailand.
